Atlantic Beach Brewing Company is an independent family-owned and operated brewery located on Atlantic Boulevard in Atlantic Beach. Founded in 2016 by twin brothers Chuck and Spencer Horn and Spencer’s wife Linda Horn, Atlantic Beach Brewing Company has grown quite popular among craft beer-loving beach locals. The relaxed, vibrant atmosphere makes for a great hangout spot. They’re family-friendly and even allow dogs on the patio, so the whole family is invited to join in the experience.
The hand-written board on the back wall behind the bar shows a list of Atlantic Beach Brewing’s beer selection. There are always new beers being released, and they usually offer a pretty good selection of guest beers from other breweries, so the menu is always changing. There are a few permanent brews that always stick around, however. Their flagship beer is called Duality. This flavorful and aromatic IPA is brewed with Citra, Chinook, Centennial, Simco, and Cascade hops, and thus boasts a very hop-forward flavor. With a combination of fruit, berry, melon, and spicy tones, this IPA is a crowd favorite. Duality was named for the Horn brothers’ support of one another and their knowledge that two heads are better than one.
Another popular Atlantic Beach Brewing beer is their crushable Session IPA called Two Minutes. It has a low ABV of 4.4% and isn’t very bitter, meaning you’ll be able to enjoy this beer all day long. The Citra hops that make this brew give it a spicy and fruity flavor and a complex aroma of berries, citrus, floral, pine, and tropical fruits. This all culminates in a beer that can be enjoyed again and again while you relax in AB Brewing’s laid-back beach atmosphere. Two Minutes was comically named for the older Horn brother, Spencer, being a whole two minutes older than his younger brother, Chuck. As you can see, the staff is fun-loving, and the entire AB Brewing crew are dedicated to making the Atlantic Beach experience fun and enjoyable.
Another popular beer is the Mayport Red Ale, which is dedicated to the nearby Naval Station Mayport in Jacksonville. This All-American Red Ale is heavy, but not too heavy, on both malt and hops, with notes of grapefruit and a pine aroma. This combo results in a smooth ale that salutes the troops and can be enjoyed time and time again. If you’re looking for some beer to take home, Atlantic Beach Brewing Company offers canned six-packs of their Duality, Two Minutes, and Mayport Red beers, which are also sold locally in stores. They also fill growlers of any of their original beers, excluding guest brews.
If you’re looking for food, then you’re in luck. Atlantic Beach Brewing Company has partnered with North Beach Bistro to bring quality food to the brewery experience. Their menu offers a modest selection of burgers, salads, flatbreads, and more. The taproom hours of operation are 4pm to 10pm Tuesdays through Thursdays. On Fridays they open from 3pm to 12am. Saturdays go from noon to midnight, and on Sundays their doors are open from 12pm to 9pm. Food service ends at 9pm every day, except for an 8pm kitchen closure on Sundays. Atlantic Beach Brewing also has a sizeable event space available for rent to parties of up to 70 people. This large area adjacent to the Brewery offers a comfortable sitting area with custom tables and chairs, and a few couches. This private taproom has a bar with 20 taps and three large TVs, so it’s perfect for any event, party, or gathering.
